She began her sales career at the Boca Grande Club sixteen years ago and then joined a Boca Grande village firm to expand into island-wide sales. Carol combined forces with her partners and opened Gasparilla Properties in Boca Grande in June of 1999. The company quickly became Gasparilla Island's top producing sales agency. Several years later Gasparilla Properties opened their first branch office in Boca Grande's own Boca Bay community. In 2005, Gasparilla Properties gained exclusive rights to offer the Landings at Coral Creek town homes in Placida, Florida. Carol Stewart has enjoyed an active real estate career with over 30 million in sales in 2005 and 15 million in 2006. These sales occurred mainly in Boca Grande with additional sales in Cape Haze and Placida. Carol holds the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Management Designation (CRB), one of only a handful of Boca Grande real estate agents that have earned this. Real Estate Business, published by the CRB's designation's counsel, featured Carol in their June/July 2005 cover story, "Vacation Places." In the article, Carol discussed sales in second home markets like Boca Grande. She is currently working toward her Resort and Second Home Markets Certification (RSPS). Carol Stewart serves on the Grievance Committee for the Englewood Area Board of Realtors and is a member in good standing with the Board's Capitol Club. The Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce honored her work during a 5-year director term. Two of those director years she served as Chamber President and also headed the Boca Grande Chamber's two tarpon tournaments and chaired the Boca Grande Chamber Scholarship Committee. She is also a Board Member for the Crowninshield Community House. Memberships for Carol include the Boca Grande Club, Boca Grande Art Alliance, Boca Grande Women's Club and the Barrier Island Parks Society. She participated in the Englewood, Florida American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and volunteers for numerous organizations including Boca Grande's own Island School. When not pursuing her real estate career and business on the Southwest Florida coast, Carol enjoys fishing the local waters surrounding Boca Grande with her husband, fishing guide Captain Doug Stewart, and sons Tanner and Flynn. In 2005, she also trained for and then climbed to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with two siblings. Carol and Doug Stewart are 16-year residents of Boca Grande. |
